Certificate of Appreciation from General Dynamics

Grants Pass, OR – April 15, 2015

ESAM, Inc. has received a Certificate of Appreciation from General Dynamics Mission Systems for its outstanding performance on the Prophet Enhanced Program. The announcement was made by Dave Matheny, President.

To support a critical delivery on this U. S. Army program, ESAM had to make the "impossible" happen. Faced with minimal lead time, there were major challenges with parts deliveries that affected the build schedule, both of which had to be expedited.  Mr. Matheny said, "We took a project that would normally have a lead time of up to 22 weeks, and compressed it into about 7 weeks. Our team did an awesome job, especially considering that it included 90 different assemblies."

ESAM, a build-to-print contract manufacturer to the Aerospace and Defense market, has an AS9100C:2009 certified quality system. The company is certified as located in a HUBZone. For additional information contact Jim Anderson, Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing, at

About Us

ESAM was founded in 1974 as an outsource provider for one primary customer in the Northwest. The business supplied “labor only” for wire and cable assemblies and harnesses for this instrumentation company.

In 1984 that customer wanted to move to a full turnkey outsourcing arrangement and the owner, not wanting to do that, decided to sell the company. The present ownership bought the company and set out to expand the business. Quickly, the company became a major supplier to the gaming industry, along with companies in other market segments.

In the early 1990’s customers began asking ESAM to do more “value add” by supplying sub-assemblies that used the cables and harnesses we were building. Over the decade this business continued to grow and expand even to finished equipment. During this time period ESAM began to focus on market segments other than just gaming and instrumentation. A full business computer system was added during this time and has been upgraded repeatedly.

During ESAM’s growth in the 80’s and 90’s we occupied two separate buildings in Grants Pass. In order to consolidate for greater efficiency, a new facility was built in 2000. This facility is easily configurable to accommodate the vast assortment of cable and harness assemblies, along with many different sizes and complexities of “box builds” making rapid expansion capability possible. For even larger future growth ESAM owns additional acreage alongside the present site.

During the first decade of the 2000’s ESAM continued to invest in the business and add services and capabilities. Customer Service was expanded. and engineering services were now added to the offering. With major customers in the capital equipment market, ESAM adopted the “copy exact” process. ESAM became ISO 9001:2001 certified in 2004 (upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 in 2011). HUBZone certification was also attained in 2004. In 2008 ITAR registration was put in place to accommodate the growing list of Aerospace and Defense customers. In 2014 ESAM‘s certification was upgraded to ISO 2001:2008 and AS9100C:2009.

ESAM has maintained financial stability over many years and is well positioned to continue to grow the company and its capabilities.
